Apple Picking

Happy hump day! We are halfway through the week and that much closer to the weekend! Today I’m talking about last weekend’s fall adventure. It isn’t officially fall until Friday but I just couldn’t resist! I went to Russell Orchards in Ipswich with a couple of my gal pals and some munchkins. I have been going to this same Orchard every year since I was a kid. It is my absolute favorite one in New England.

They have a free hayride that takes you out into the orchard. You get your apple picking bag out there (cash only!). You can also take the hayride back or walk.

I tell everyone I go for the apple picking but really it’s all about the apple cider donuts. They literally have the best apple cider donuts ever.

But its not all apples and donuts! They have tons of pumpkins to pick from, even beautiful white ones! There are gourds and squash and all kinds of other fun fall decorative vegetables. Plus the big barn has tons of their own homemade products and our local products like honey. They have their own wine that they sample on the weekends. Their is obviously hot and cold apple cider. And if you don’t want to go through the hassle of apple picking you can just grab some inside the barn.

They have animals in a separate barn as well. Including Big Darryl, the famous giant pig! He is huge and so cute – if you like pigs! They also have chickens, roosters, goats, sheep, bunnies, turkeys, and regular size pigs.

I had so much fun and I am so excited for all the other fun fall activities to come. I am already scheming what this weekend’s fall plans will be. What is everyone planning on getting into this weekend?!
